Check engine light on? Oil leak getting worse? I diagnose and fix on-site — no guessing, no unnecessary parts.
The check engine light could mean a $50 sensor or a $3,000 problem. I show up with professional diagnostic tools, read the codes, trace the actual root cause, and fix it. Not guess and replace parts until something works.
Most engine work I do doesn't require pulling the engine out. Oil leaks, sensor replacements, valve covers, ignition work — all doable in your driveway with the right knowledge and tools.
The most common oil leak on aging engines. BMW N54/N55 engines are notorious for this — the valve cover warps and leaks onto hot exhaust components. I clean, reseal, and torque to spec.
$200–$500Oil pan gasket, rear main seal, cam seals, timing cover — I trace the actual source. Honda K-series engines commonly leak from the VTEC solenoid gasket. I find it, I fix it.
$150–$800Stretched chains, worn tensioners, overdue belts. Preventive replacement before it snaps and destroys your engine. GM 5.3L AFM lifter issues often show up with timing symptoms first.
$400–$1,200Misfires, rough idle, poor fuel economy — plugs, coils, and wires done on-site. Often cheaper than a shop quotes, because I don't charge shop labour rates.
$100–$400Vacuum leaks, coolant intrusion, rough running. Diagnosed with a smoke machine and repaired properly.
$250–$700Full OBD-II scan plus hands-on diagnosis. I check live data, not just codes. Pending codes and freeze frame data included.
$80–$150Most engine issues don't require pulling the engine. Oil leaks, sensor replacements, valve cover jobs, timing work — all doable in your driveway with the right tools. I bring a full diagnostic kit and the knowledge to use it properly.
The biggest waste of money I see is people paying for full diagnostics at a dealer, getting a code read, and getting quoted $1,200 for a repair that costs $300 in parts and an hour of work. Dealers charge for the name on the sign.
BMW N54 and N55 engines almost always have a valve cover gasket leak by 100,000 km. It's a design issue, not a failure — just normal maintenance the dealer charges $800 for. Honda K-series VTEC solenoid gaskets are a $30 part and 45-minute job that shops charge $300 for. GM 5.3L AFM lifter problems are serious — if you have a GM truck with that engine and you're hearing a tick, don't wait.
A flashing check engine light means stop driving immediately. A steady light is less urgent but still needs attention. Don't drive for months on a steady light — the underlying issue can get worse and damage other components.
I come to you with a full diagnostic kit and the right parts. Available 24/7 across the GTA.
